Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao has rejected as “baseless” news of his country's sale of jet fighters to Iran .

The Russian news agency RIA Novosti claimed on Wednesday that Iran has signed a deal with China to buy two squadrons of J-10 fighter planes that are based on the Israeli technology.

Speaking to reporters Thursday Liu said that news of China 's sale of jet fighters to Iran claimed by certain Russian media is unauthentic.

China has held no talks with Iran regarding the case, he said, stressing that media should not release reports which run counter to facts.
